BUILDING THE WHOLE MUSICIAN

 My goal as a music educator is to provide all the tools necessary for my students to experience success in their musical journey.  

I grew up in the deserts of California then moved across the country to go to the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York to major in VOCAL PERFORMANCE.  I wanted to be a music teacher as well but at that time I was not able to do two programs.  (I bought my first winter coat but still froze in the New York winter.)  

After graduation, I moved to Philadelphia to sing and raise a family. I then went back to school at the University of Redlands, California to get my Master of Music in Vocal Performance and my teaching license.   Finally, fulfilling my dream to be a teacher.!

After receiving my Masters, I taught elementary and middle school music in San Juan Capistrano Unified  Calif.  I continued to perform locally and in the Los Angeles area.

Nothing is easy but everything is worth trying! 

I felt the pull to learn more and help new teachers so I moved my family to Oregon to begin work on my Doctorate in Music Education at the University of Oregon where I continued to perform.  Go Ducks! 

I have taught in the Eugene area of Oregon at all levels for over 25 years and love sharing my knowledge and expertise in music education and performance with my students.

 I am married to my best friend, Patrick and we both enjoy our dog, Sam who always makes us smile.  We also share seven grandchildren.
